Mass. unemployment rate drops

The Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development has announced that the unemployment rate in the Bay State for February dropped to 8.2 percent, down from 8.3 percent in January. The state's unemployment rate remains below the national rate of 8.9 percent. The Office says the preliminary February job figures indicate an increase of 15,400 jobs, with largest gains in Education and Health Services. Job losses came in the Manufacturing, Construction and Government sectors.
